Bulgarian Villagers Fighting for a School

About 400 Bulgarian Muslim inhabitants of the village of Egrek entered the no man’s land between Bulgaria and Greece at the end of November. They did this in protest over the closing of a local school.

They claim this deprived them of the right to education, and say the move was forced by the municipal authorities, dominated by the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, which represents ethnic Turks……
