European journalists can participate in a media work exchange to promote diversity and non-discrimination in sports media. The Media Against Racism in Sport (MARS) Media Work Exchange program is open to media professionals in one of the European Union’s 27 member countries.
The program pairs two participants from different countries for the 10-day exchange, acting five days as a host and five days as a guest at each participant’s respective media organization.
The program provides a plane ticket and an EU€310 grant (about US$437) to cover living expenses for each five-day period.
The participants will produce a joint project emphasizing diversity in sports coverage. These projects can be in many forms – article, video, case study, journalism training resources and more.
Preference will be given to priority countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The media exchange can occur from October 2011 – November 2012.
