The Media Diversity Institute (MDI) is looking for an experienced and professional Country Programme Director to run its Egyptian Programme and Cairo office. The Country Programme Director to oversee and implement all elements of MDI’s project ‘Rebuilding Post-Revolution Egyptian Media: Embracing Free Expression, Diversity and Inclusiveness’.
The successful candidate must have an in-depth understanding of and feeling for diversity, as well as excellent contacts in both the media and civil society.
S/he will coordinate with UK and local project staff and local partner organisations, in accordance with project plans and budgets. In addition, the Country Programme Director will act as an ambassador for MDI in Egypt as well as regionally – representing MDI at events and during fundraising opportunities. Good management skills are essential and fluent English is important. The contract is for 20 months with potential for extension depending on funding.
