Women journalists in India who are interested in focusing on a long-term reporting project can apply for this fellowship. The Sanskriti Foundation offers the Prabha Dutt Fellowship each year in honor of late journalist Prabha Dutt, who worked for the Hindustan Times and India Today.The fellowship offers young and mid-career print journalists a grant of INR100,000 (about US$1,800) to conduct in-depth research and investigative stories in Hindi, English or any regional language. The fellows will be required to publish a stipulated number of articles in established publications. The fellow may work on a book or monograph for subsequent publication within the given time frame.
To apply, candidates should submit a two-page resume, an essay of 250 to 300 words detailing the proposed project, five work samples and the names and contact information of two references.
