Deadline: 5 September 2011

Country: USA

The Associated Press Sports Editors is accepting applications for Fellows for its 2011-2012 Program. Women and minority journalists in the U.S. interested in sports journalism can apply for a fellowship in Chicago.

The Diversity Fellowship Program, sponsored by the Associated Press Sports Editors, is a nine-month course of study for working, mid-career professionals who are interested in pursuing a path as a manager (typically a sports editor or assistant sports editor) in sports journalism.

Topics to be covered include online sports coverage, sports management, critiquing and analysing a sports section and executing high-quality summer sports.

The program covers training and travel costs, but fellows must have support of their employer. Women and minority journalists with at least three years of experience are eligible to apply.
