The project objective is to prevent the risks of hate speech and disinformation, by strengthening MIL skills among youth in Jordan. The focus is on public schools in Irbid, Zarqa, and Ma’an, where students from grades 7 – 9 will benefit from action-oriented support in MIL clubs. The clubs will focus on digital media literacy, visual media creation, authenticity of news, ethical reporting, and online privacy and security, among other topics.
Key activities:
- Training workshop for MIL Master Trainers
- Training workshops for teachers and principals on MIL curriculum. 45 teachers and principals from 15 schools from governorates of Irbid, Zarqa and Ma’an will be trained;
- Setting up and running 15 MIL clubs for grades 7-9 in 15 schools in Irbid, Zarqa and Ma’an, which will run once a week from April 2019 to December 2019; Supervision, coaching and on-the-job training to MIL clubs. Two master trainers will organize monthly follow-up visits to each school to provide guidance and technical support to the teachers.
