Prepared by ASTRA, the Belgrade-based Anti Sex-Trafficking Action organization, the study is based on a sample of 240 articles published in daily newspapers in Serbia & Montenegro during the period 1998-2002. It found that coverage was increasing in quantity over time, but was generally sensationalist.
The issue of trafficking in children got far less attention than trafficking in women.
