Handbook: A Brief History of Islamism

A Brief History of Islamism is a 16-page booklet which provides an accessible introduction to key Islamist movements and their ideas. The publication is the first in Quilliam’s new ‘Concept Series’ of short and easily-digestible publications which will help people better understand the nature of the Islamist threat in the world today. The booklet narrates the story of Islamism; from the Wahhabism and the birth of Al- Qaeda to the 9/11 terrorist attack. It focuses on the emergence of Islamist movements such as Jamaat-i-Islami, the Muslim Brotherhood, and Hizb ut-Tahrir and shows how their political ideology, when combined with puritanical Saudi Wahhabism, helped to create modern Jihadism.

Contrary to popular belief, Lorem Ipsum is not simply random text. It has roots in a piece of classical Latin literature from 45 BC, making it over 2000 years old. Richard McClintock, a Latin professor at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, looked up one of the more obscure Latin words, consectetur, from a Lorem Ipsum passage, and going through the cites of the word in classical literature, discovered the undoubtable source.
